Sierra Rica Badlands

Designer: Tom Rausch

Course Description:

Welcome to Sierra Rica Badlands Golf Course. This is a fictional club located in the Sierra Nevada dessert. This smaller desert located in the corner of California, Nevada and Arizona is part of the vast Mohave desert. The mountain region is the area I wanted to feature and I’m sure you will be able to see those traits in the design. The course can play like a Grizzly Bear or a Baby Bunny depending on the wind and chosen tee. Some definite tricky pin locations add to the fun or frustration, as do the multiple tiers on some greens. The course plays 6650 yards from the reds and 7350 from the blacks, 18 holes, par 72 and is designed in the Steppe template. There are a few rock pillars and arches, so it’s scenic and just fun to play. Just play smart, it’s designed for a few lay-up shots and you can get in trouble quickly if you just pound away. A clean round will reward you with a good score.
