Cardinal Pines Golf Club is the final transformation of an original TGC1 design - GC of Pennsylvania. The routing remained very similar, but the environment, contours and bunkering were completely overhauled. The finished model was based on the following design features: -The color contrasts of Augusta's lush, perfectly green turf and vibrant Pine straw were inspiration for the look of the course -Elevation change was designed to be similar to the Carolina Sand Hills region -Large, steep, grass faced, flat surfaced bunkers replaced all older brush versions -Meandering streams move through both the front and back 9 -Squared-off green complexes and angular geometry is dominant design factor -3 of the par 3's are short in length - Given the right conditions, all par 5's can be reached in 2 - Greens are fast but contours are kept in check This course can prove challenging, but is extremely fair and not overly lengthy. Enjoy your round!
