The course can be described as a hybrid between the Coore & Crenshaw restored course and the more traditionally roughed course featured in the 99 and 05 US Opens. There are several waste bunkers designed to look like the "natural areas" of the restored course, but there is plenty of rough, as well. The fairways are extremely wide and replicate the restored fairways, as opposed to the more narrow fairways of the roughed course. This version, the Blue Tees, is several hundred yards shorter than the maxed out U.S. Open version. All of the pin locations are authentic to last year's U.S. Open, and the greens are medium firmness and speed to keep approach shots from repelling off of the turtleback greens, to a degree.

Other Courses by Craig LeVasseur
- very authentic course
- fantastic work on the bunkers & "waste areas"
- quiet fair pin positions
- good variety with the greens (some very easy, some hard if you don't hit the right spot)
- low FPS on some areas of the course (PS4; don't know about other platforms)
